This blog post assumes you already have a working Azure subscription.
Step 1 – Add a resource group
This step is not required. It could be that you already have a resource group you want to use.
Step 2 – Add an “Automation” resource
- Click on “All resources”.
- Click on “Add”.
- Click on “Management Tools”.
- Click on “Automation”.
- Fill in the required information and click on “Create”. Required information:
- Name
- Subscription
- Resource group
- Location
- Create Azure Run As Account
Which values to fill-in depend on your situation (naming conventions, location etc.). For testing purposes, just selecting the right location is most important. For production environments, naming conventions are important too. “Create Azure Run As Accounts” depends on your usage.
More information about Run As Accounts can be found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/automation/manage-runas-account
